For 10 months I was in constant pain. It first started with loss of feeling in both feet, then I slowly began seeing everything blurry. After almost half a year, I began having difficulty walking, severe muscle spasms, and my jaw hurt so much I couldn't eat. I began to rapidly lose weight. I was exhausted. I went from doctor to doctor, but they all looked at me in confusion.
Every time I went to the doctor, they told me I was completely fine, since blood tests all showed everything was normal. Problem was, I kept feeling worse and worse every day. My health was rapidly deteriorating, and I went from a completely healthy 31 year old to someone who felt like I was living in an old woman's body.
I was sleeping no more than 4 hours per night because of the pain in my bones. Each time every blood test came back normal, I would either receive a referral to a specialist, or I would be told everything was due to anxiety. No one could figure out what was wrong with me.
At the point where I was about to give up and just deal with the pain, I asked my doctor to be tested for vitamin D deficiency. Sure enough, this was exactly what the correct diagnosis was. My Vitamin D levels were close to 5 ng/mL - severe deficiency. After months of agony, I was prescribed mega doses, and I now have no more pain.
