No Statins for Me -
Nutritional Therapy, including Astaxanthin

In October my doctor gave me 3 months to bring down my cholesterol and triglycerides. My total cholesterol was 213, triglycerides 226, HDL 40, and LDL 76. I was eating pretty well and taking fish and flax oil. I had heard about krill oil and astaxanthin on Dr. Oz. And my doctor had recommended up to 500 mg. of niacin per day.

I headed to my health food store and picked up their triple strength fish oil with krill, red yeast rice, niacin, and astaxanthin. I take them at night with a snack containing a little good fat before bedtime. In January, I had a lipid panel and my total cholesterol was 157, triglycerides 71, HDL 73, LDL 70, and my ratio went from 5:33 to 2:15.
I haven't seen my doctor yet, but I know she is going to be in shock. Thank you for your website.
