Compelling Reasons to Avoid Eating Fish

The American seafood industry is being flooded with products imported from developing countries, much of which have proven to be contaminated with banned chemicals, poisons, carcinogens and high levels of antibiotics, according to a report by ABC News.

The report found that over 80 percent of the seafood sold in America today is imported, much of it from Third World nations such as China, Vietnam and the Philippines, none of which are known for their food safety standards.

The Food and Drug Administration, which is charged with promoting public health through regulation and supervision of food safety, inspects less than one percent of the nation’s imported seafood.

Personally, I only eat wild Alaskan salmon and sardines, the two cleanest varieties of fish left, it seems; and then only occasionally. Are You Still Drinking Tap Water?

It has been so long since the federal law regulating tap water has been updated that more than one-fifth of the U.S. population is consuming tap water that the government classifies as toxic, but still approves for human consumption!

Even though more than 60,000 chemicals are used in the United States each year and most have never been tested for human safety, the Safe Water Drinking Act regulates only 91 different toxins. Many of these are regulations have not been updated since the 1980s. To top it off, not a single chemical has been added to the law since 2000.
